Typora keeps Markdown simple

What you see is Markdown

Typora renders as you type, and the file on disk stays plain Markdown.

Files, not a library

Every document is a .md file wherever you save it. Nothing to export.

Typora doesn't publish. Sentilis does.

The missing publish button

Typora exports HTML and PDF, but has no built-in way to put a site online. Save the file in your Sentilis folder and that file is the page.

Images included

Images in attachments/ are uploaded with the page.

One profile

Blog, docs, bio, portfolio, store and memberships in one place.

How Typora → Sentilis works

  1. 01

    Write and save

Save your document in your Sentilis folder, under press/.

  2. 02

    Point images to attachments/

In Typora's Image preferences, copy inserted images to ./attachments so they sit next to the file.

  3. 03

    Publish

Run sentilis sync with the Sentilis CLI. Save and sync again to update the page.

From Typora to your website

Set the image folder in Typora's global preferences rather than per document: the per-document option writes a typora-copy-images-to field that Sentilis reports as unknown.

Frequently asked questions

Can I use Typora?

Yes. Typora edits .md files directly, so save them in your Sentilis folder and publish it with the Sentilis CLI. Set Typora to copy images into an attachments/ folder and they are uploaded with the page.

Does it work with other Markdown editors?

Yes. Any editor that saves .md files works: put them in your Sentilis folder and publish it with the Sentilis CLI. Apps that keep notes in their own library need to export them as Markdown first.

Can I publish Markdown files directly?

Yes. Each post, product or work is a .md file with a short settings block at the top. Put it in a folder and run sentilis sync, or publish it from the Obsidian plugin.

Can I keep my Markdown files locally?

Yes. Your files stay on your computer and remain the source of truth. Sentilis publishes them; it doesn't replace them.

Do I need to learn Markdown?

Only the basics — headings, lists, links and images — plus a short settings block at the top of each file. Every content type has a documented template you can copy.
