The Sentilis plugin publishes notes from your Obsidian vault to your Sentilis profile. You write as usual, right-click a note, and choose what it becomes on the web. This guide covers installing it, connecting profiles and publishing each kind of page.
Install
The plugin is coming soon to the Obsidian Community Plugins directory. Until it is listed, install it manually:
- Download the latest
sentilis.zipfrom the releases page. - Extract it into
<vault>/.obsidian/plugins/sentilis/. - Open Settings → Community Plugins in Obsidian and enable Sentilis.
The .obsidian folder is hidden on most systems; show hidden files if you don’t see it.
Connect a profile
- Sign in to Sentilis and copy the API token from your profile.
- In Obsidian, go to Settings → Sentilis and add a profile with the token.
You can add several profiles — for example one per language or per brand. Switch between them with the command Sentilis: Change profile. Treat the token like a password: anyone who has it can publish to your profile.
Publish a note
Right-click any Markdown note and pick where it goes:
| Menu item | Publishes the note as | Settings it expects |
|---|---|---|
| Sentilis → Publish to Press | A post or documentation page | name, slug, status |
| Sentilis → Publish to Bio | Your profile page | name, slug, role |
| Sentilis → Publish to Market | A product or service | kind, price, currency |
| Sentilis → Publish to Gallery | A work in your portfolio | The images are the work |
A post, for example:
---
name: Notes on slow writing
slug: notes-on-slow-writing
status: published
---
![[desk.jpg]]
The best drafts I wrote this year took weeks, not hours.
If a note has problems — a missing field, an unsupported file — the plugin asks you to fix them before publishing.
Images and attachments
The plugin works with Obsidian’s own way of handling files. It resolves:
- Obsidian embeds, like
![[desk.jpg]]; - standard Markdown images, like
; - cover images set in the note’s properties;
- file attachments.
You don’t need to move images into a special folder for the plugin.
Manage what you’ve published
Run Sentilis: Open sidebar to see your published entries and manage them without leaving Obsidian.
Updating a page
Edit the note and publish it again from the same menu. With the same slug, the existing page is updated and keeps its URL. A different slug creates a new page, and the old one stays up.
Good to know
- You need a connection to publish. Writing works offline as always; publishing waits until you’re back online.
- Only Markdown notes can be published. Canvas files, PDFs and other file types are not pages.
- Memberships (Prime) aren’t in the plugin menu. Publish plans with the Sentilis CLI:
sentilis prime push.
The plugin or the CLI?
Use the plugin to publish notes one at a time while you write. Use the CLI to publish a whole folder in one run, from scripts or from CI — see publishing from the command line.
